First Ever! NF2 & Schwannomatosis Info Day
| June 18, 2009 |
The BCNF is excited to present its first ever NF2 & Schwannomatosis Information Day in partnership with our friends at the Friedman Lab. The event will take place in Vancouver on Thursday, June 18th, 2009 at the University of BC, 11:30am to 4pm.
Join us for this very special day to learn more about NF2 & Schwannomatosis and emerging treatment options. The day includes a light lunch, the opportunity to meet others living with these conditions, and the rare opportunity to meet world renowned leading experts in the field of NF2 & Schwannomatosis research, Dr. Gareth Evans of Manchester, UK, Dr. Victor Mautner of Hamburg, Germany and BC’s own Dr. Jan Friedman.
Topics will include an overview of NF2, Schwannomatosis and isolated vestibular schwannoma (also known as acoustic neuroma), discussion of existing and new and emerging treatments options, pain management, and appropriate monitoring for the conditions. There will also be time for informal discussions and questions with these experts. CART translation will be provided for people with hearing difficulties.
This is an opportunity not to be missed! RSVP today! The symposium is free for individuals and families living with the disorders, $25 for professionals. RSVP is required to help us appropriately meet catering needs. Accommodation for out-of-town visitors can be obtained at reasonable rates on the University campus. For BCNF members, limited travel stipends are available. Please contact the BCNF office for further details at 1-800-385-2263 or email us via the website contact page.
